Appointments
Routine appointments
We offer routine 10 minute appointments from 8:20 till 11:00 in the mornings and from 2:00 till 6:00 in the evenings. We also have some evening appointments between 6:30 and 8:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. These are for people who cannot easily get to us earlier.
We set up our diary around 2 weeks ahead, and release appointments gradually so that there are always some available within a day or two and some further ahead.
You can ring us or make these appointments in person or go online with EMIS Access.
We encourage you to choose a doctor and stick to them so that you have continuity of care. However if a particular doctor is very booked up, you may choose one with a quicker appointment if you need to.
If you have complicated or multiple problems, please book a double appointment. If you are booking for more than one person, book an appointment for each one. Some special appointments need more time, so do tell the receptionist if it is for any procedure or particular type of check up.
If you cannot keep your appointment please remember to cancel it by telephone or email.
Chaperones
If you would feel more comfortable with another person in the room when you are going to have an intimate examination we can provide a chaperone. All our members of staff have been trained to perform this role. Your doctor or nurse may ask if you would like one, or you can ask for a chaperone to be present.
Same day appointments
If you want urgent medical help we offer same day appointments every morning. You should ring from 8:00am and the duty doctor will ring you back and offer advice or a suitable appointment during the day. We also save a few appointments for emergencies that arise in the afternoon. So if you need to be seen urgently we will fit you in.

We operate a triage system for urgent problems every morning. The duty doctor will ring you back and give a telephone consultation. You may then be offered suitable treatment plan or a surgery appointment the same day if needed.
Our Doctors and Nurses also give telephone consultations at the end of morning surgery. The best time to ring for advice is between 11:30 am and 12:00 noon. In the afternoons doctors are available on the telephone for half an hour before their surgeries start. The receptionists can advise you when to ring to speak to your own doctor. If you ring when your doctor is busy, the receptionists may also ask the doctor ring you back when they are free.

Home Visits
Home visits can be offered, at the doctors discretion, if you are ill and cannot come to the surgery. In practice home visits are usually for elderly housebound patients, as it is much easier to provide medical attention with the help of the facilities in the surgery. Children can nearly always be brought safely to the surgery.
Please ring about home visits during the morning as we then can arrange to do them before afternoon surgery starts.
Appointment Reminders
We use a computerised texting service to send reminders of your appointments. For this to work properly we need to know your latest mobile phone number. Please let us know if your number or any other registration details have changed.
Out of Hours
The surgery is closed at lunchtime, between 12:00 and 1:30pm, to allow our very busy receptionists time for lunch and administration. If you need urgent medical help during this time please ring 07910 874 826 for our duty doctor.
